If you sign up for our newsletter you opt in to have your personal data stored. This includes the fields you enter, and your content preferences (i.e. be notified of new listings in your area). Your data will be shared with a third party service to send the e-mails. We use Mailer Lite, who is fully GDPR compliant, and is committed to user privacy.
If you use our contact form you opt in to have your personal data stored. This is to ensure that we can receive, process and reply to your request.
If you create an account to create a listing, leave a review, bookmark listings, comment or otherwise create/edit content on our site, read on below for details.
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
We use Google Analytics to analyze user behavior on our site. The information is stored using anonymized IP addresses to protect your privacy.
If you add a comment, review, a listing or other content on our site, you opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
If you edit or publish an article or other content (including a review), an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.
List layout cookie: Whenever a user switch the layout of the List view on the directory page from row layout to grid layout and vice versa using the layout switch button, a cookie is saved in the user’s browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply stores the name of the layout that has been selected last. This is so that the selected layout is kept selected even when you navigate to another page. The cookie is deleted when you close the browser.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
Who we share your data with
If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.
If you have an account with us, your data may be stored and shared in databases used to manage our listings, shared with e-mail listing services, and etc. This data will also be deleted in accordance with the the paragraph of your rights below.
How long we retain your data
For users that register on our website (if any), we store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except changing username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
Registered users of the website will have their edit/post history stored along with metadata, to combat spam, ensure quality, and improve the site.
To leave a comment, post a listing, add a review, or otherwise add/edit content on our site, an account is required, and the content and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes. Where we send your data
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
We collect information about visitors who comment on Sites that use our Akismet anti-spam service. The information we collect depends on how the User sets up Akismet for the Site, but typically includes the commenter’s IP address, user agent, referrer, and Site URL (along with other information directly provided by the commenter such as their name, username, email address, and the comment itself).
