To legally grow cannabis in Thailand, the government requires you to register through the Plook Ganja app. Plook Ganja literally means Plant Cannabis. If you have a question about growing cannabis at home in Thailand, you may call 025907767 or 025907793 or contact your provincial public health office.
Registration is said to be open for Thai nationals only as it requires a Thai ID number, although we have heard stories of foreigners being able to register. If you are a non-Thai citizen we advise you to consult with your local government and a lawyer before starting the process.
When your registration has been approved, the permission granted is very broad and it will allow you to produce and process cannabis and hemp products as well as planting and using what you grow. Even for industrial and commercial purposes.
The registration will inform the authorities of the number and places where hemp and cannabis plants are grown across the Thailand. It will also be an information source for entrepreneurs to seek raw materials to create cannabis and hemp products for the Thai market. This which will also result in economic stimulation according to the government policy.
The exact requirements and details are still being worked on by the Thai government. This text may be out-of-date.
