Thai Top Shelf started making a name for themselves as soon as cannabis was decriminalized in Thailand. Through social media and YouTube, they started reviewing buds from around the country. Months later, we all of a sudden saw their name on Google Maps and decided we had to check it out.
Their dispensary is located in the Nimman neighborhood at the end of Soi 17, just across the street from Victoria Hotel and very easy to find. We were greeted by a somewhat discreet but good looking storefront. The vibe is professional and fun thanks to the lightning, presentation and staff. Buds are displayed on a shelf with jars that have a magnifying glass and lights, so you can properly inspect every trichome.
The owners and staff were all very friendly, welcoming and most importantly knowledgeable about good weed. They specifically look for the best weed in Thailand and are serious about supporting local, so you’ll know their selection is the bomb without having to rely on overpriced imports.
Thai Top Shelf also seem to have created strong relations with growers throughout the country which you can tell from their bud selection. We saw several strains that you usually only see in famous dispensaries in Bangkok. While the prices are a bit on the higher side compared to the current market, these unique strains are still cheaper than in the capital. In fact, it seemed like the majority of their buds were priced fairly when accounting for the quality.
In addition you can also find a local selection of bongs, pipes and other smoking accessories as well as edibles and a few drinks. In fact, the only negative we could think of was the lack of munchies and snacks which probably is just from being newly opened. While writing this, Thai Top Shelf is still a bit of a hidden secret, but we’re sure it’s going to be a staple name for high quality cannabis in Chiang Mai going forward.
We happily went home with some Wild Runtz, grown by Canis Major, which is now a new favorite we will come back for. Overall we very much recommend Thai Top Shelf, mostly for people who are serious about good weed in Chiang Mai and are looking to try something new.
